Give a warm welcome to the newest addition at Androswag, our GOTSWAG winner and uber-zesty fashionista, Rebecca.
Welcome to Androswag. What drew you in?
I would say that androgyny has always been my go-to. I’ve wanted to check out the local androgynous fashion scene since moving to Australia in 2016, and ended up stumbling upon Androswag.
Tell us the important things about yourself.
I love the outdoors, and I love animals. Studying to become a wildlife conservationist at the moment.

Pineapple on pizza, yes or no?
NAH.

Socks and sandals, fashion faux par or ultimate you-do-you comfort?
I absolutely love a pair of cute socks, and I love my Birkenstock’s, so I would say you-do-you!

Tea or coffee?
Either! I’m generally caffeine dependent.

What fashion/gender convention gets your goat the most?
When someone puts gender to clothing. Skirts and dresses are also not quite my thing, because you’re likely to find me climbing a tree or doing something crazy.

How would you describe your style?
I enjoy playing around with various styles like street, vintage, grunge, sporty — though it’s still out of comfort zone to post most of my outfits on social media.

Who are your current style inspirations?
Ari Fitz/@the.tomboyish on Insta. K Stew.

What do you love about Androswag?
I love the prints, they’re unique for sure; really comfortable, and I mean you rarely come across androgynous lines! It’d be nice if you could sell accessories as well, like bowties, socks, and bracelets.

Why is a tennis ball fuzzy?
Why not?

Tell me something interesting or funny I wouldn’t know.
Well, something a lil’ strange (and funny) is that my friends like to describe my hair as “guinea pig” hair; I have these baby hairs that go in all directions. My sister and I also tend to get up to heaps of mischief, and often get caught in awkward situations — ie. dancing in a lift, only to have the doors open, and a ton of people staring at us.

Imagine a penguin walks into your room wearing a Sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?
Hola, yo quiero una tortilla.

3 things you could never give up?
Camping, muscle tanks, and my pet hamster.

What was the last lie you told?
Lied to my parents about getting a new tatt.

Do you have a special talent?
I’d like to think that my talent lies in agility, having been dancing and doing sports since I was 4 years old, but I can also pop nearly every joint in my body, which usually grosses people out. Haha.

How do you hope to change the world we live in?
Educate people about gender and sexuality spectrums, promote an open and accepting mindset, and minimise unnecessary judgements.

Where do you see yourself headed this year?
Trying heaps of new activities in uni, experimenting with new looks, and saving up for future travels.
